Fashion Designer Mom

March 08, 20232 min read

As a stay-at-home mom, I have always been searching for something to keep me creatively fulfilled and, at the same time, allows me to spend quality time with my children. That's when I discovered my passion for clothing design. It all started about five years ago when I was looking for a home-based hobby that would not keep me away from my kids. I have always been fascinated with fashion and design, right from my childhood. My earliest memories of fashion go back to my elementary school days, and I even studied home economics in junior high, which allowed me to create my own clothes.

I grew up surrounded by a lot of fashion influences. Elsa Klensch, who wasn't a designer but hosted a popular fashion show on CNN, was one of my biggest inspirations. I spent most of my weekends watching her show and getting a glimpse of the latest fashion trends from around the world. Apart from Elsa, I was also heavily influenced by the works of Calvin Klein, Gloria Vanderbilt, Ralph Lauren, and Vidal Sassoon. I was a child of the 70s, and fashion designers like Jordache Jeans, United Colors of Benetton, and Esprit de Corps, were all the rage back then. I had a huge collection of designer jeans and other popular fashion items of the time.

I have always been drawn to international fashion and have tried to incorporate that in my designs. People often look at my clothes and remark that they look more European than American. I take that as a compliment, as it only goes to show that my designs are unique and different from the typical American fashion style. My goal is to create clothes that are not only stylish but also comfortable and versatile. I believe fashion should not only look good but also feel good, and that's what I try to achieve with my designs.

My journey into clothing design started as a hobby, but it has now become a full-fledged passion. I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to pursue my dreams and be able to share my love for fashion with others. I am proud of the designs I have created and the positive impact they have had on those who have worn them. I hope to continue creating and sharing my designs with the world and inspire others to follow their passions and never give up on their dreams.
